A Veggie BBQ

This Fourth of July, why not cook up something kind and healthy – like marinated vegetable kabobs, beefless burgers, or vegan BBQ chicken?

Vegan foods not only taste great, they’re better for you – and your guests – because they’re cholesterol-free and generally low in saturated fat, and they don’t form harmful carcinogens when cooked, even when the “chef” barbecues them beyond recognition. Eating lots of charred meat, on the other hand, can raise your risk for pancreatic cancer by up to 60 percent. And eating well-done meat, including grilled chicken or fried fish, can as much as double your risk for bladder cancer. Undercooked meats can cause food poisoning, so you’ll want to pass on them, too.

Fortunately, you can find free vegan cookout recipes, product suggestions, and helpful grilling tips at Have a blast this holiday!
